I talked to Adina yesterday. Adina is a favorite teacher from high school who taught me how to write and who I recently reconnected with on Facebook because I wanted to share my work with her. She is quirky and blunt and unafraid, and I remember her 1. always being this way and 2. as someone I enjoyed being around and learned a lot from. The only discernible difference between now and then is that she’s added tattoo sleeves on the upper parts of each arm. Chatting with her felt like coming home.
